Joe Carnahan is ready to go bad.
Carnahan is in early talks to do a pass on the script for Bad Boys 3, which was written by David Guggenheim, with an eye toward Carnahan directing, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Sony Pictures is hoping Will Smith will make the film his next project after wrapping on Warner Bros.’ supervillain teamup Suicide Squad.
Michael Bay directed the first two installments of the buddy cop franchise, which starred Smith and Martin Lawrence. The first Bad Boys hit theaters in 1998 and the sequel followed in 1995.
