Judy Greer and Cheryl Hines have been added to the Craig Johnson-helmed dramedy Wilson.
Woody Harrelson and Laura Dern star in the Fox Searchlight film, which has begun principal photography in Minnesota.
The screenplay was written by Oscar nominee Daniel Clowes (Ghost World) and is based on his graphic novel of the same name. Mary Jane Skalski and Jared Ian Goldman are producing.
Harrelson stars as the titular Wilson, a lonely, neurotic and honest middle-aged misanthrope who reunites with his estranged wife (Dern) and gets a shot at happiness when he learns he has a teenage daughter (Isabella Amara) he has never met. In his uniquely outrageous and slightly twisted way, he sets out to connect with her.
“Woody Harrelson as Wilson is casting nirvana, and we are thrilled to be working again with Laura Dern, Judy Greer and Cheryl Hines,” Fox Searchlight president of production Claudia Lewis said. “We’re especially excited about the pairing of Craig Johnson’s cinematic style with Dan Clowes’ sharp and distinctive voice.”
Fox Searchlight’s David Greenbaum and Richard Gold are overseeing the project for the specialty label.
Greer, whose credits include The Descendants, will next be seen in Marvel’s Ant-Man. She is repped by CAA, Principato Young and attorney Fred Toczek.
Curb Your Enthusiasm star Hines’ upcoming projects include the film Christmas Eve. She is handled by WME, Principal Entertainment and attorney Rick Genow.
