Disney’s The Jungle Book will open April 8 in India, a week ahead of its U.S. release.
The theatrical release in the country will also be dubbed in Indian languages Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man), the new live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic book set in the jungles of India features Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong’o and Idris Elba among the actors lending their voices. The film will open April 15 in the U.S.
Neel Sethi, a 10-year-old newcomer of Indian origin, stars in the central role of Mowgli, the young boy who is raised by jungle animals.
A new trailer, which aired during the Super Bowl, introduced Bill Murray as Baloo the bear, Christopher Walken as King Louie the orangutan and Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, the black panther.
Last summer, Disney also released Avengers: Age of Ultron in India a week ahead of its U.S. debut.
