The first image of Amber Heard as Mera — the love interest of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman in the upcoming Justice League movie — has surfaced online, revealing she has an armor-clad warrior look more akin to Game of Thrones than the simple scaled body suit worn by the character in her comic book incarnation.
The image first appeared on IGN alongside costume designs for the character, before being shared by Justice League director Zack Snyder on social media:

In DC comic book lore, Mera is a former queen of an alternate dimension who falls in love with Aquaman and eventually becomes his bride and co-ruler of Atlantis. Heard’s onscreen version of the hero is expected to make her debut in Justice League when it reaches theaters Nov. 17, 2017.
