Nearly 100 years after the Titanic sunk, and more than a decade since the world re-lived the occasion in James Cameron’s iconic film, the unsinkable ship returns to the big screen in 3D.

While Leonardo DiCaprio has kept a relatively low profile during the recent media blitz surrounding the 1997 film’s re-release, Kate Winslet has been making the media rounds. In a recent interview with iTV’s Daybreak, the actress was asked how she and her co-star have changed since landing the roles that rocketed their careers into superstardom.
“We do look very different, we’re older,” Winslet began. “Leo’s 37, I’m 36 — we were 21 and 22 when we made that film. You know, he’s fatter now. I’m thinner.”

Hers may be harsh words, but Winslet is just calling it how she sees it. Indeed, both stars do look significantly different since they filmed the epic love story.
As fans eagerly await the return of the beloved film, Winslet admits that re-living the experience on screen was a less than pleasant experience. After watching just 17 minutes of Cameron’s 3D version, “I was literally like, ‘Oh my God, make it stop! Is that me? Oh my God, that’s me. Block my ears, somebody!” she joked.
Titanic 3D hits the big screen on Wednesday, April 4.
