The Spanish-style estate that late, Emmy-winning actress Bea Arthur called home from the 1970s until her death in 2009, recently sold for $14.925 million to mega-producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, according to The Los Angeles Times.
In addition to earning a dozen Oscar nominations between them, the couple is also a force in California real estate, having bought and sold multimillion-dollar properties to celebrities including Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Selleck and Steven Seagal.
Arthur’s estate, their latest conquest, is a 6,000-plus square foot home is located in the secluded area of Sullivan Canyon on four acres of grounds which include a swimming pool with a spa, scenic trails and a tennis court.
The hacienda-style home was originally designed by renowned California architect Cliff May, who was known for his indoor/outdoor approach to residential design, the Times reported.
In its current state, the house contains five bedrooms, six bathrooms, two offices and stone-tiled formal living and dining areas, the newspaper said. An open-plan kitchen/family room opens up through French doors to the swimming pool and spa. The house also features an art studio, a bar, a gym, a library/study and a media room.
