Kaitlyn Dever has joined the cast of Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit riots drama.
Dever and Hannah Murray will play the female leads in the movie that is currently shooting in the Boston area.
The cast already includes Jacob Latimore, Algee Smith, Will Poulter, Ben O’Toole, Jack Reynor and John Boyega.
Details are being kept under lock and key, but the script by Mark Boal is set against the backdrop of the devastating riots that took place in Detroit over five summer days in 1967.
Bigelow is directing and producing. Producing alongside her are Boal, Annapurna’s Megan Ellison and Matthew Budman, and Colin Wilson. Annapurna is financing.
Dever has appeared in movies such as Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, James Ponsoldt’s The Spectacular Now, Daniel Destin Cretton’s Short Term 12 and Jason Reitman’s Men, Women & Children. Dever is repped by UTA and Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson.
Murray may be best known for playing Gilly in HBO’s Game of Thrones. She was also one of the original leads in the British series Skins and stars in the historical drama The Chosen, directed by Antonio Chavarrias.
