Marielle Heller‘s The Diary of a Teenage Girl, a coming-of-age tale featuring Kristen Wiig, Alexander Skarsgard and Bel Powley, will have its international premiere in Berlin’s Generation sidebar, one of 14 new titles announced by Berlin on Wednesday, Jan. 14.

The Diary of a Teenage Girl will first screen at Sundance but several of the new Generation titles will be Berlin world premieres. They include One & Two, a sibling drama from U.S. director Andrew Droz Palermo; Sergio Mazza‘s Argentine feature The Kid, the Canadian/Afghanistan co-production Mina Walking from director Yosef Baraki; Sam de Jong‘s Dutch feature Prince, the South African/German co-production Coming of Age by director Teboho Ebkins; and 14+, a Russian feature from director Andrey Zaytsev set amid the high-rise apartment blocks of suburban Moscow.

Daigo Matsui‘s Wonderful World End, a look at the friendship between a 17-year-old Japanese video blogger and her shy, devoted fan, will have its international premiere in the Generation section, as will Chlorine, from Italy’s Lamberto Sanfelice, about a girl in a dysfunctional family who dreams of attending the synchronised swimming championships.
New additions to the Generation Kplus section, targeting younger viewers, include Mexican drama The Greatest House in the World from directors Ana V. Bojorquez and Lucía Carreras and Antboy: Revenge of the Red Fury, the sequel to Danish director Ask Hasselbalch‘s low-budget superhero film from 2013.
Previously announced Generation titles include the Irish comedy You’re Ugly Too from director Mark Noonan starring Game of Thrones actor Aiden Gillen and Robert Connolly‘s Australian kids film Paper Planes starring Sam Worthington.
The 2015 Berlin International Film Festival runs Feb. 5-15.
