Larry Angrisani has been hired by Graham King’s GK Films to act as senior vp worldwide marketing and publicity.
The move follows last week’s exit of Maxine Leonard, who previously held the post and left to start her own marketing and publicity consulting firm.
Angrisani, who will be based out of GK Films’ Santa Monica office, will be responsible for global marketing and publicity for all areas of the company, including film, television and new media.
Angrisani oversaw Disney’s Golden Globe campaign for Alice in Wonderland while also acting as an awards strategist for the USA Network. He also consulted for the Cinequest Film Festival.
He spent the past seven years as Miramax’s senior vp international publicity and awards, leading the international campaigns for There Will Be Blood, Gone Baby Gone and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. He was also a key player in the awards campaigns for No Country for Old Men and The Queen.
Also, Angrisani oversaw the international publicity for Finding Neverland, Sin City, Cold Mountain and Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator, where Angrisani first worked with King.
“After working on so many quality films and with an extensive list of accolades to his credit, Larry will bring a creative energy to the company as we continue to grow our brand,” King said in a statement.
Joining Angrisani at GK Films will be Joelle Benazra, who worked with him in Miramax’s publicity department.
