Lionsgate has named Monica Bloom as senior vp and general manager of Tribeca Shortlist, the subscription video-on-demand service from the studio and Tribeca Enterprises.
Bloom replaces former Universal Music Group exec Jeff Bronikowski, who was named president of Tribeca Shortlist in May 2015. Bloom, most recently global vp and head of integrated marketing at Getty Images, will report to Julie Uhrman, executive vp and general manager of Lionsgate’s over-the-top ventures.
In her new role, Bloom will manage Tribeca Shortlist’s New York office, drive subscriber growth and manage programming strategy and marketing. Tribeca Shortlist offers curated film titles like Gangs of New York, Y Tu Mama Tambien, The Hurt Locker and The Graduate to distinguish itself from more mainstream movie streamers like Netflix and Hulu.
Tribeca Shortlist has also enlisted the curating talents of filmmakers like Morgan Spurlock and Jason Blum and actors John Leguizamo and Matthew Modine, among others, to help market the SVOD platform.
“Monica is a global marketing expert and forward-looking thinker with an impressive track record for defining and building brands,” Uhrman said in a statement.
Before Getty Images, Bloom led the rebranding of SundanceTV as senior vp marketing and digital media.
