Paramount has picked up an untitled comedy pitch from Zack Pearlman, the actor who is currently appearing on screen in Nancy Meyers’ The Intern.
Saturday Night Live impresario Lorne Michaels is attached to produce via his Broadway Video production banner.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the project is described as a high-concept road comedy.
The project will reunite Pearlman with Michaels, who produced Staten Island Summer, a coming-of-age comedy in which the actor starred with Graham Phillips. Pearlman also co-starred in the Michaels-produced TV series Mulaney.
The idea for the movie sprang from a meeting Pearlman had with execs at Broadway. Talk of future acting work got sidetracked when it turned into a brainstorming session, leading to what is Pearlman’s first script sale.
Pearlman is repped by UTA, Principato-Young Entertainment and Stone Meyer.
