Macaulay Culkin wants that Donald Trump cameo cut from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, like other fans of the 1992 holiday classic have expressed.
The call to remove the president from the film ramped up over the holiday season amid Trump’s refusal to accept his defeat in the the 2020 presidential election to President-elect Joe Biden.
Crafty Twitter users were having a ball photoshopping others into the cameo, including Star Wars’ Jabba the Hutt and Christopher Plummer (a joke referencing Plummer replacing the disgraced Kevin Spacey in All The Money in The World).

The now 40-year-old Culkin expressed his approval for Trump to be removed from the film, telling one Twitter user he was “sold” on a petition to remove Trump and saying “bravo” to another user who edited the president out.
Trump appears in the film when Culkin’s Kevin McCallister asks him for directions inside the Plaza hotel, which Trump owned at the time. Canadian broadcaster CBC has on occasion cut the Trump cameo when the film airs.
In December 2020, director Chris Columbus said in an interview that Trump “did bully his way into the movie” for allowing the production to shoot in the hotel. “When we screened it for the first time, the oddest thing happened – people cheered when Trump showed up on screen,” Columbus recalled. “So I said to my editor, ‘Leave him in the movie. It’s a moment for the audience.’”
