A Jedi Knight and the Terminator walk in to a bar…
Mark Hamill on Saturday shared a fun little story via social media that he once gave a budding actor by the name of Arnold Schwarzenegger some career advice, which was not so strong in The Force.
Responding to a Twitter user who told the Star Wars icon that she loved his wit and wanted a shirt asking “What would Mark Hamill say?,” the Luke Skywalker actor admitted he did not have an answer for everything. In fact, sometimes what he did have to offer was hilariously off.
“Arnold Schwarzenegger asked me for advice when he was just starting out. I told him to lose his accent for a wider range of roles & to change his last name since no one could pronounce it. He did the opposite & became one of the biggest stars EVER #TrueStory,” Hamill tweeted.

Oops. Or maybe not.
Schwarzenegger responded hours later to Hamill’s confession
“Your advice was absolutely correct under any normal circumstances, and those were the rules back then. I just happen to be a rule-breaker,” Schwarzenegger tweeted.
Hamill is currently working on the upcoming Star Wars installment, directed by J.J. Abrams, and Schwarzenegger is working on a new Terminator film.
