Mark Hamill did it again.
Using his powers of The Force (via social media), the iconic actor managed to troll a lot of Star Wars fans who thought perhaps the Luke Skywalker actor was throwing them a space bone.
For the past few weeks, Hamill has been tweeting out a single word a day. No one really knew for sure where it was going, but at first, some fans of the classic sci-fi franchise (stories were even written about the theory) believed Hamill was revealing the title of the upcoming installment, Episode IX.
But, of course, the actor — who also is known for playing characters by the name of Trickster and The Joker — pulled one over on everyone waiting with bated breath.
His string of tweets concluded Tuesday, which happens to be Hamill’s 67th birthday — and that was what he was tweeting about the entire time. His final post even included a few pictures of him from his youth.

“The purpose of annoying everyone with inane tweets is distracting from my birthday,” the completed message read.
For the most part, fans enjoyed the ruse, some tweeted in reply a classic moment from A Christmas Story when Ralphie uses his Little Orphan Annie decoder pen to uncover nothing more than a commercial for Ovaltine.
Still, with J.J. Abrams’ Episode IX currently in production, fans will learn the title of that film sooner or later, just probably not through Hamill’s Twitter account.
