The first decade of Marvel Studios will be celebrated in a new exhibition from Mondo Gallery next month, featuring brand-new work from some of the most exciting illustrators around, each taking on one of the fan-favorite features from the MCU.
Mondo’s Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years will launch Friday, Oct. 12, with a special reception, before continuing through Oct. 20 at the company’s Austin, Texas, gallery space. The exhibit will feature new contributions from a number of Mondo’s most successful artists focusing on the heroes, villains and evolution of the first 20 releases from the blockbuster studio, including Cesar Moreno’s Iron Man print (seen above).
“As a devourer of pop culture with a heavy lean on movies and comics, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the ultimate dessert,” Mondo creative director Eric Garza said in a statement. “What Marvel Studios has accomplished over the last ten years is nothing short of remarkable. They’ve given us heroes that are big and small, mighty and cosmic while telling incredible stories that are often sweepingly epic while at the same time nuanced and personal. We are incredibly excited to celebrate ten years of monumental filmmaking and characters courtesy of the mighty Marvel Studios. Make Mine Marvel!”
Beyond the opening reception, Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years will be at the center of a Saturday afternoon Family Day party at the Mondo Gallery on Oct. 13, from 10:00 a.m. through noon, featuring food, photo-ops and face painting, with younger fans invited to attend in costume. More information about the show can be found at the official Mondo site.
