Matthew Milam is joining David Ellison’s Skydance Productions as vp, production.
Milam, who is coming from Warner Bros. where he served as a creative and production executive, will be responsible for bringing in projects to Skydance and talent relations. He will report to Skydance president of production Dana Goldberg and will also work with Goldberg and Ellison on production.
At Warners, Milam worked on films such as Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans, Terminator Salvation, The Informant! and Observe and Report. He also assisted in the development of projects such as Tales from the Gangster Squad and Justice League.

Prior to Warners, Milam acted as creative exec at Mandate Pictures, helping oversee Harold and Kumar 2, Grudge 2 and 30 Days of Night. He received co-producer credit on Boogeyman 2, for which he oversaw the development, production and post-production.
“I worked with (Matt) at Warner Bros. and know that he’s incredibly talented and well respected throughout the industry,” said Goldberg. “His
intelligence, energy and talent relationships make him the perfect fit for us in forging the Skydance brand.”
Stated Milam: “It’s been amazing to watch this company develop and I feel fortunate to be able to help shape the quality pictures that Skydance produces.”
Skydance is the company that co-produced and co-financed the Coen brothers’ Oscar-nominated True Grit with Paramount. The pic, which grossed over $160 million domestically, was the first film under the company’s strategic partnership with the studio.
Upcoming films include Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol, starring Tom Cruise and set for release on Dec. 16, 2011; My Mother’s Curse, which teams up Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen, slated for release on March 30, 2012; and the untitled Jack Ryan project starring Chris Pine, to be directed by Jack Bender.
