‘Mission: Impossible’ — All the Times Tom Cruise Ran Way Too Hard

Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) does not skimp on the cardio.

Online, it’s been a joke among movie aficionados for years that the Mission: Impossible movies feature a surprising amount of footage of Cruise running (ditto other Cruise movies). 

The fifth installment also features plenty of running, with Rogue Nation in theaters this weekend. 

Mission: Impossible (1996)

Hunt most notably had to go on the run after the opening mission goes very, very wrong.

Mission: Impossible II (2000)

People have taken a shining to a very John Woo slow motion shot of Hunt running through a flock of birds.

Mission: Impossible III (2006)

In the longest running scene in the series to date, Hunt attempts to track down the location villain Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman) has taken his fiancee Julia (Michelle Monaghan).

Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol (2011)

Ghost Protocol took Ethan to new heights, with him running down the side of a building and through a crazy sandstorm.
