Martial artist Darren Shahlavi, who appeared in the series Mortal Kombat: Legacy and Arrow, has died, his agent, Kathy Carpenter, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 42.

Shahlavi was born in England and began practicing martial arts at age 7. He moved to Hong Kong to pursue a stunt career in the early 1990s, where he was tapped to star in Tai Chi 2.
He moved to the United States to continue his career, performing stunt work for titles like The Chronicles of Riddick, Night at the Museum and 300. He also had acting roles in 2002’s I Spy alongside Eddie Murphy and 2004’s The Final Cut with Robin Williams. In 2010, Shahlavi appeared in the martial arts film Ip Man 2. The following year he starred in Mortal Kombat: Legacy as Kano.
