A trip to the movie theater in Middleton, Ohio, became a nightmare for a mother and several of her kids, who walked in thinking they’d be watching Pixar’s Inside Out. Instead, the projectionist accidentally played the PG-13 horror film Insidious: Chapter 3.
Jazmyn Moore aired her grievances on the Facebook page for the Ohio-based newspaper the Journal-News.
“I got our money back but the damage is already done … my children are terrified and keep asking questions,” Moore wrote in her Facebook post.
A manager at the Danbarry Cinema told the Journal-News it was a projectionist’s mix-up and that the manager who was on duty last week when the incident occurred apologized. The patrons received a free movie pass and an upgrade to see Inside Out in 3D.
Inside Out goes inside the mind of a young girl, Riley (Kaitlyn Dias), and her emotions, Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black) and Disgust (Mindy Kaling). Insidious: Chapter 3 is a prequel to the successful horror franchise.
