The Nasdaq Stock Exchange’s Market Bell Ceremony gets a new ring today, created by three-time Oscar-winning sound mixer Chris Jenkins and two-time Grammy Award winner Giles Martin, who leads the sound experience team at consumer electronics company Sonos, working with Nasdaq.
Also today, Sonos, known for its speakers and home sound systems, listed its shares in an IPO on Nasdaq.
The below video shows Jenkins — who won Oscars for Mad Max: Fury Road, The Last of the Mohicans and Out of Africa — describing how the new Nasdaq sound was created with various instruments and techniques. Jenkins also serves on Sonos’ sound board.
Martin, who has been with Sonos since 2014, won a pair of Grammys for The Beatles’ Love remix album and is the son of Beatles producer George Martin.
