Scott Waugh, who helmed 2014’s Need for Speed, will direct the action-thriller Blackout.
The film will follow the story of a cop who must transport a dangerous criminal during a citywide blackout.
Sierra/Affinity is financing and producing the film, which is being written by Sidney King with revisions by Brooks McLaren. Todd Garner and Jeremy Stein are attached to produce, with Sierra/Affinity’s Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg acting as executive producers.
Waugh, an experienced stuntman, co-directed the 2012 war thriller Act of Valor, and is attached to direct the drama Outlaws, Inc., which centers on ex-military who enter into mercenary work. He’s repped by WME, which also is overseeing domestic rights on Blackout.
Sierra/Affinity is in production on it’s next film The Coldest City, starring Charlize Theron and James McAvoy, which is set to shoot next month in Budapest.
