Neill Blomkamp has revealed the concept art for an Alien film that he was working on and has now apparently abandoned.
The South African director gave fans of the franchise a tantalizing glimpse of the world he potentially could have brought to the big screen, including mock-ups of Sigourney Weaver‘s Ripley character and Michael Biehn‘s Hicks as well as pictures of a spacecraft, the Weyland Corp building and the iconic xenomorph.
The photos were released on his Instagram account, and Blomkamp captioned the first picture: “Was working on this. Don’t think I am anymore. Love it though.”
Blomkamp also described the pictures as “a mental stroll into the world Ridley Scott created” and cryptically captioned the final picture with the words “maybe I’ll go back to it ….love the world.”

Next up for Blomkamp is the sci-fi film Chappie, starring Hugh Jackman and regular collaborator Sharlto Copley.
