The movie’s title might be Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but the latest clip from next month’s superhero fight movie suggests that Superman isn’t incredibly excited about the prospect of fighting the Dark Knight — but he’s ready to put a stop to it as quickly as possible nonetheless.
The excerpt, which sees Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel tell Ben Affleck’s Batman to “stay down,” after he’d helpfully thrown the armored Caped Crusader through the Bat Signal (not to mention through a building), suggests that while Batman is ready for the throwdown — complete with smoke bombs and a gun — Superman is not in the mood. “If I wanted it, you’d be dead already!” he tells Batman, in what might be a hint of his attitude toward the conflict in general.
The clip debuted on Sunday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, which also featured a fake “deleted scene” from the upcoming movie, in which Kimmel replaced Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor in the confrontation between Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne glimpsed in the second trailer. Another surprise guest appears during the scene: Will Arnett, who voices Lego Batman in the upcoming movie of the same name.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, directed by Zack Snyder, opens March 25.
