Paul Feig’s female spy comedy starring Melissa McCarthy has added New Girl actress Jessica Chaffin.
Spy (which was at one point called Susan Cooper) centers on a CIA analyst (McCarthy) who goes out into the field for the first time. Feig wrote and directs the comedy, which is currently shooting in Budapest.

The Fox film, which is set for release on Memorial Day 2015, also stars Jude Law, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne, Miranda Hart, Bobby Cannavale and Allison Janney. It’s produced by Feig, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Jessie Henderson.
Chaffin previously worked with Feig and McCarthy on The Heat, the hit 2013 comedy that has earned $229.9 million worldwide. Feig is working with her and Jamie Denbo on a spin-off film based on their characters, Gine and Beth, from The Heat.
Chaffin most recently appeared on Fox’s comedy series New Girl, and her previous TV credits include The Crazy Ones and The League. She’s repped by CAA, The Schiff Co. and Morris Yorn.
