Nate Parker’s film about Nat Turner’s 1831 slave rebellion already looks incredible in the first trailer for the Oct. 7 movie. At first, Turner follows the instructions of his owner (played by Armie Hammer) to preach subservience, but as more and more atrocities happen he is inspired to lead an uprising in Southampton County, Va. The audience is given a glimpse of the impassioned battle in the last few moments of the trailer.
