Jeff Elefterion and Heta Paarte have been tapped to run New Regency’s domestic and international marketing departments, respectively.
Valerie Van Galder previously headed up New Regency’s marketing team, but she left in December for Disney‘s Imagineering.
Elefterion joins the company from The Weinstein Company, where he most recently served as head of creative advertising. He spent 18 years with Harvey and Bob Weinstein, first at their Miramax Films and then at TWC, where he oversaw more than 70 theatrical marketing campaigns.
Paarte, based in the U.K., most recently was executive VP international marketing and distribution at Focus Features, where she spent more than a decade, joining the company when it was founded in 2002. Before that, she worked for James Schamus and David Linde‘s Good Machine. In her new post, Paarte will oversee marketing and distribution for all international releases on behalf of New Regency, which distributes its movies through 20th Century Fox. New Regency’s distribution partnership with Fox extends to all media worldwide except international pay and free television.
“With a busy slate for us this upcoming fall and beyond, we felt this was the perfect time to bring in Jeff and Heta, both esteemed marketing vets, who will help strengthen our internal processes and work closely with our various studio partners on the campaigns and release of these films,” said New Regency president and CEO Brad Weston.
New Regency is the company behind last year’s best picture Oscar winner, 12 Years a Slave. Its upcoming releases include David Fincher‘s Gone Girl, starring Ben Affleck (Oct. 3); Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s dark comedy Birdman, starring Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, Emma Stone and Naomi Watts (Fox Searchlight will release the film on Oct. 17); Cameron Crowe’s untitled film, starring Bradley Cooper, Rachel McAdams and Stone (Dec. 25), with Sony distributing domestically and Fox handling international; and Vince Vaughn’s Unfinished Business (March 6).
