Even as the first day of ReedPOP’s 2014 New York Comic Con is taking place, the company is continuing to expand internationally with the announcement of its first event in Europe, 2015’s Paris Comic Con.
The three-day event, which will run from Oct. 23 through 25 at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris, France, is the result of a partnership between ReedPOP, Reed France and the organizers of the French Japan Expo convention, JTS.
“Paris Comic Con continues our growth across the globe,” said ReedPOP global SVP Lance Fensterman in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Every region has its own interests and personality, but we’ve found that fans all around the world share universal traits and the same desire to interact with their fellow fans and favorite entertainment. I can’t wait to see the flavor that Paris brings into the mix.”

Depending on the scale of the event, it could make France even more of a destination for comic professionals; the country is already home to the second largest comic book event in the world: the Angouleme International Comics Festival, which takes place annually each January, attracting creators from all corners of the industry and attracting an estimated 200,000 visitors during its four-day run.
In recent months, ReedPOP has announced new comic con events in India and Australia, in addition to expanding New York Comic Con’s calendar of events to include a full week’s worth of programming and adding a second New York show. In addition to NYCC and the international conventions, the company is also responsible for the Star Wars Celebration and Penny Arcade live events in the U.S.
More details about Paris Comic Con will be announced Oct. 23 at a press conference in Paris, with Marvel’s Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier in attendance.
