Thomas Sadoski, who starred on HBO’s The Newsroom and currently stars on CBS’ Life in Pieces, has joined the cast of the film The Last Word.
The dramedy, directed by Mark Pellington, stars Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried. It centers on a retired businesswoman (MacLaine) who tries to control everything around her, including her own obituary (which she sets out to write herself). Seyfried plays a young journalist who tries to find out the out the truth about the woman, resulting in a life-altering friendship.
Sadoski will play a local radio DJ who becomes a love interest for Seyfried’s character. Anne Heche also appears in the film.
Stuart Fink wrote the script for the pic, which is being produced by Pellington, Anne-Marie MacKay of Wondros and Kirk D’Amico of Myriad Pictures. Aaron Magnani is executive producing, and Bleecker Street will distribute in the U.S.
Sadoski played Don Keefer on HBO’s popular series The Newsroom and currently stars on the CBS comedy Life in Pieces, which debuted in September. His film credits include Wild with Reese Witherspoon, I Smile Back with Sarah Silverman and the upcoming John Wick: Chapter Two, which is now in post.
