Can’t keep up with what’s been going on in the social media world? Fret not. Here, a gathering of what the stars have been up to this week on social media.
Olivia Wilde Calls Out MTA Riders
Olivia Wilde tweeted a PSA to fellow MTA transit riders: Give a seat to preggo women. Her tweet incited negative responses. Some gems: “Women wants to be treat like men. Here you go.” by @AlwaysRight524 and “Pregnancy is not an illness of disability. You’re rich, call Uber or catch a cab! Entitled much?” by @Teytey45. Ad hominem attacks toward female celebrities are nothing new, unfortunately. The story quickly became about Wilde versus the misogynistic Twitter trolls, when the real narrative is that no one offered a pregnant woman a seat. A gentle reminder to all MTA riders that preggo women are growing new human beings.

Whoa whoa whoa, it’s not about scolding, or celebrity, or who can afford an uber. It’s simply about us all looking out for each other.

Iridescent, for Spring?
With New York Fashion Week (finally?) over, sifting trends out of thousands of looks can be a challenge. Delpozo, Monique Lhuillier and Marchesa showed iridescent hues on the runway for spring. Plus, you may have noticed that editors like Obsessee’s Kristie Dash, THR’s Carol McColgin and CR Fashion Book’s Carine Roitfeld posted glimmers of shiny items on Instagram. It’s no coincidence — the shiny, ‘80s-centric color is perfect for the red carpet. Dakota Fanning wowed at the Venice Film Festival in a Miu Miu iridescent slip dress, and Balmain showed a long-sleeved, iridescent shift dress as part of its spring 2017 menswear collection. Iridescent: It’s happy and trendy. Just do it.

The Blonde Salad’s Macarons
Italian fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni recently debuted her collaboration with whimsical French bakery Laduree. Her specially designed box comes filled with strawberry-vanilla-cream macarons dusted with sparkly sugar. Laduree Soho hosted the launch with the recent L.A. transplant, and soon, you’ll be able to get your own box here, too — the famed bakery is coming to The Grove this fall.

Glossier’s Supers
Glossier, beauty brand of Into the Gloss founder Emily Weiss, launched its latest product, The Supers, this week. The three serums are packed with nutrients to tackle skin care challenges — stress, dryness and breakouts. The pastel-hued bottles were inspired by a ‘90s Vogue editorial, and images of the products have spread like wildfire on the IGs. Cool girls like AJ Michalka and Sophia Amoruso posted rave reviews of the serums on social media. The products have no smell, and they aren’t tacky like some serums. Check them out on Glossier.
