Not long after it was announced that DKNY was starting over with its social media channels and saying goodbye to DKNY PR Girl, change is happening at another renowned fashion house. Oscar de la Renta’s Erika Bearman, who’s best known for elevating the @OscarPRGirl handle into what it is today, has left her role as senior vp global communications, an ODLR rep confirmed to Pret-a-Reporter.

Bearman will still continue to work with the label founded by Oscar de la Renta, who passed away in October 2014, in a consultant role. She will consult the brand on communications and branding, WWD first reported.
Alex Bolen, CEO of Oscar de la Renta, told the fashion trade he’s currently looking for Bearman’s replacement, but that she’s kept a talented team in place. “We will have a new head of communications, but we won’t have a new Erika. I am talking to people. She organized her team extremely well,” he said, adding that @OscarPRGirl will still exist with Bearman’s team taking charge of it for now.
Bearman has also taken to the label’s Instagram account to make the announcement about her departure:
“after 7 incredible years at Oscar, I have resigned as head of communications. while I am signing off as oscarprgirl, I am staying on as a consultant to the company, and will continue to be involved in its leadership. when I started this account, my only goal was to highlight the beauty of the brand and its joyful spirit. that’s the greatest assignment you could ask for,” she wrote. “oscarprgirl will continue!”

As for the aforementioned news about DKNY, now it looks like Aliza Licht, who once helmed the now-retired DKNY PR Girl persona, might be leaving the company too. According to Page Six, sources say Licht will be leaving her role as senior vp global communications at DKNY. Pret-a-Reporter has reached out to DKNY for comments. Until then, there have been no additional details as to when she’s planning to leave or who will replace her.
