This year’s Oscar nomination list is finally out! While the nominees — Bradley Cooper (best actor nominee for American Sniper) and Felicity Jones (best actress nominee for The Theory of Everything) included — have expressed their excitement, they’re certainly not the only ones. Their stylists are just as thrilled about the announcement.
Power stylist Ilaria Urbinati, who works with Cooper and Laura Dern, found out the news from her husband, photographer Eric Ray Davidson, who woke her up at an “ungodly hour,” she says, to tell her about her clients’ nominations.
“I shot up and was like, ‘I knew it!’ After that I couldn’t go back to sleep, I was so excited. I texted them both congrats, and then the emails from designers offering to dress them and make them custom looks started pouring in. I’m just really happy for them because they gave incredible performances in really special movies,” Urbinati told Pret-a-Reporter via email. “Plus it’s my third Oscars in a row with Bradley nominated!”
For Patricia Arquette‘s style guru, Annabelle Harron, she tells us she was “on my way to my tailor’s studio” when she heard. So, how does Harron feel about being able to style an Oscar-nominated client? “It’s a pleasure to be able to work with such a talented actress who also happens to be a wonderful human. An exciting moment for Patricia and the film!” said Harron.
Celebrity stylists also took to social media to send best wishes to their clients. Karla Welch, who styles Felicity Jones, shared a photo of the actress on her Instagram and captioned the shot, “Way to go, Jones! #OscarNominee #TheTheoryofEverything.”
Style guru Leslie Fremar also has two clients to style on Oscars night — Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore — who are both nominated for best actress category. She posted on Instagram, sending them “huge congratulations” and ending her caption with “#ihaveworktodo.” Indeed she does, but we have no doubt power stylist Fremar will be helping her clients win on the carpet, as will the other stylists.
