Ten live-action short films have been selected for consideration for the best live-action short Oscar, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Thursday. They were chosen by the Academy’s short films and feature animation branch reviewing committee from 141 films that were submitted.
Branch members will now select three to five nominees from among the 10 titles on the shortlist. Branch screenings will be held in Los Angeles, London, New York and San Francisco in December, and the nominations will be announced Jan. 15.
The 10 films are listed below in alphabetical order by title, with their production companies.
