Oscars 2015: Behind the Scenes With Scarlett Johansson’s Makeup Artist

The awards-season race is more of a marathon for the makeup artists whose days and nights are packed with getting celeb clients ready for red carpets, high teas, cocktail parties and press interviews.

Oscar weekend is no exception, especially with pre-awards parties, designer dinners and the Independent Spirit Awards, which all happen just a day before the ceremony.

Celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh knows the marathon that is awards season well and was particularly busy this past weekend making up her longtime clients Lily Allen, Chloe Grace Moretz, Aubrey Plaza and Scarlett Johansson for the slew of events each actress attended.

To prepare herself beforehand and be well-prepared (for anything) the day of, Quynh turned to healthy and hydrating juices, her favorite meal and an arsenal of luxe beauty products to keep herself sane, inspired and moving along beautifully.

Friday: I have all my drinks for the day in order to keep hydrated: 64 ounces of water in my bkr glass bottles, two Beverly Hills Juices and coconut water.

Friday: Scarlett Johansson for the Tom Ford L.A. show.

Saturday: I had three people to work on. These are my wet, clean brushes at the end of the day.

Saturday: Scarlett Johansson at the Independent Spirit Awards.

Sunday: Sustenance — a breakfast Cobb salad and an almond latte from my favorite place, Food on Pico.

Sunday: Trying Dolce & Gabbana lipsticks on my hand.

Sunday: Scarlett Johansson at the Oscars.
