The Academy has set its first-ever Oscar Concert, celebrating this year’s nominated scores and songs. The concert will take place Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. at UCLA’s Royce Hall.
An 80-piece orchestra will perform suites from each of the nominated original scores, conducted by their composers. William Butler and Owen Pallett will play maestro for Her, Alexandre Desplat for Philomena, Thomas Newman for Saving Mr. Banks, Steven Price for Gravity and John Williams for The Book Thief.

The composers will each participate in a brief onstage conversation with film critic and radio host Elvis Mitchell about creating their pieces.
The concert also will feature this year’s nominated original songs, including Frozen‘s “Let It Go,” by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and “Happy” from Despicable Me 2, to be performed by Jill Scott. More performers and guests will be announced. Tickets are $100 and $75 and can be purchased online.
The Oscars, produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron and hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will be broadcast from the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center and will be televised live March 2 on ABC.
