Getty ImagesJada Pinkett Smith’s Oscars boycott is quickly picking up speed, but she is thanking the efforts of Cheryl Boone Isaacs.
Pinkett Smith tweeted two short but optimistic messages on Tuesday, thanking the president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for her “quick response” to the controversy surrounding the lack of diversity at the Oscars for the second year in a row. (Her husband Will Smith was one of the actors snubbed for his lead role in Concussion.) She also added that she “looks forward to the future.”
The posts are in response to Boone Isaacs‘ statement that she was “heartbroken and frustrated about the lack of inclusion” in this year’s Oscars acting categories and vowed to make a change. Boone Isaacs issued her statement on Monday night, promising to review the Academy membership in order to ensure “much-needed diversity in our 2016 class and beyond.”
Said Isaacs: “This is a difficult but important conversation, and it’s time for big changes.”

It does look like the boycott, also supported by Spike Lee and Al Sharpton, is still on.
