All of the Academy Award acting nominations this year went to white actors and actresses and many people took to Twitter to express their frustration and outrage over the lack of racially diverse nominees.
The last time all of the acting contenders were white was 2011. Before that, an all-white acting nominee list hadn’t occurred since 1998. The most notable snub in the acting category was David Oyelowo for his role of Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma.
Here’s a look at how Twitter users reacted to the nominations today:

Looking pretty white on Oscar night. For all Hollywood’s lib preaching, they apparently don’t believe in diversity. Hypocrites. #OscarNoms

The noms are 98% white. Like the most obviously white group in a long time. I’m PISSED about the David Oyelowo snub.

Clearly black lives DON’T matter to #Oscars2015. Nothing but white people in Acting categories. #DavidOyelowo deserved #OscarNoms.
