The Oprah Winfrey Network has acquired its eleventh movie, Miss Representation, directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, for the network’s documentary film club.
Condoleezza Rice, Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow, Margaret Cho, Rosario Dawson and Gloria Steinem open up about the media’s perception of women, and how they are judged more strongly on their youth, beauty and sexuality over their capacity as leaders.
ro*co films will also distribute the film to educational institutions and libraries for classroom use and university screenings.
Kevin Iwashina of Preferred Content represented Miss Representation in negotiations with OWN.
