Paramount has removed Michael B. Jordan spy thriller Without Remorse from the theatrical release schedule.
The film, an adaptation of Tom Clancy’s novel of the same name, was due to be released Feb. 26, 2021 after an initial Oct. 2, 2020 release date. The studio is closing a deal to sell Without Remorse to Amazon Studios, according to sources.
Directed by Stefano Sollima, the movie stars Michael B. Jordan as navy seal John Kelly, who avenges his wife’s murder and gets involved in a larger conspiracy.
Jamie Bell, Cam Cigandet and Stephanie McIntyre also star, with a screenplay from Taylor Sheridan and Will Staples.
In other changes to Paramount’s 2021 release calendar, the action sci-fi film Micronauts, previously scheduled for June 4, 2021, is now unset. The movie is a live-action take on the Hasbro toys, written and directed by How to Train Your Dragon filmmaker Dean DeBlois.
The Untitled Lee Daniels Billie Holiday Film has shifted its release from Feb. 12 to Feb. 26, 2021.
