Patrick Wilson, Laysla De Oliveira and Harrison Gilbertson have joined the Netflix adaptation of the thriller In the Tall Grass, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The 2012 novella, written by Stephen King and his son Joe Hill, follows a sister and brother who venture into a vast field of grass in Kansas after hearing a boy’s cries for help. The siblings soon discover that there may be no way out.
De Oliveira will play Becky as she gets ready to start her first year of college as a women’s lit major, determined and not easily influenced, and yet conflicted about the life inside her. Will Buie Jr. also joins the ensemble cast.
Splice filmmaker Vincenzo Natali wrote the script and is directing the project, now shooting in Toronto through Sept.12.
Steve Hoban, Jimmy Miller and M. Riley are producing the film.
