TORONTO – Norman Jewison has tapped fellow Canuck director and screenwriter Paul Haggis to promote his Canadian Film Center internationally.
Haggis, an Oscar-winner for Million Dollar Baby and Crash, will serve as chair of the CFC’s film programs, while helping emerging Canadian filmmakers extend their reach into the world market.
“It’s an honor to accept this position and contribute to Norman’s legacy of an organization that supports and fosters creative talent.” Haggis, who grew up in London, Ontario before moving to Hollywood, said Monday.
Haggis will also hold one master class annually at the CFC in Toronto, which was launched in 1988 by Jewison after his own success in Hollywood.
