In his return to the Middle Earth, Jackson is seeing through a different lens. He’s working digitally and in 3D. He also made the now controversial decision to shoot at 48 frames-a-second, which delivers a larger and sharper focus than the usual 24 frames, creating what Jackson sees as a more vivid audience experience.

Peter Jackson has added his private jet to the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The Hobbit director’s Gulfstream G650 is currently on charter looking for MH370 near Australia.
Jackson spokesperson Matt Dravitzki told Radio New Zealand the director typically shies away from receiving publicity for something like this and declined to say what compensation he was receiving for the jet’s use.

“A lot of civilian and military aircraft are involved in the search, and it’s kind of disappointing that because one is owned by a celebrity it becomes a matter of news when there are [over] 200 people missing.”
Jackson purchased the jet in March 2013 for roughly $80 million. Jackson’s production company Wingnut owns the jet, which is available for charter via the charter service Execujet, a Jackson rep tells THR. The rep says the jet is currently on charter in Perth, Australia.
Flight MH370 went missing March 8 with 239 people on board. Recent search activity for the flight has focused on the areas surrounding Australia, after satellite footage revealed what may be wreckage from the plane in that area.
