Police took a man into custody Thursday at Phoenix Comicon.
The man was allegedly armed and had to be subdued by multiple officers. Phoenix police confirmed the news, saying, “The suspect was found to be in possession of three handguns, a shotgun, a knife, ammunition and a variety of other handheld weapons along with wearing body armor. He was immediately removed from the venue and taken to police headquarters for questioning.”
Phoenix police said that no evidence had been found to cause investigators to believe the man was part of any “grander scheme” and listed his arrest as an “isolated incident.”
The convention runs Thursday through Sunday at the Phoenix Convention Center, with guests including Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Danny Trejo (Machete) and Gabriel Luna (Agents of SHIELD).
