LONDON — Former pop sensation and cult reality TV star Peter Andre has penned a new song for the DreamWorks Animation and Twentieth Century Fox backed comedy adventure animation Mr. Peabody and Sherman.
Directed by The Lion King’s Rob Minkoff, Andre’s song — entitled “Kid” — will feature as the end credit track on the film, which is scheduled to roll out via Twentieth Century Fox in the U.K. and Ireland from Feb. 7.
“I saw an early cut of the film and loved it – it’s a must-see for the entire family,” said Andre, an Australian-born performer who is a regular on British television and lives in the U.K. “It is great to be working on something that I can see with my children, and I am so excited about this partnership.”
Ian Morton, vp of international promotions at Twentieth Century Fox added, “We are thrilled to be forging a partnership with Peter and our new family adventure comedy from DreamWorks Animation, Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Peter was the natural fit for the film and it is great to see that the film has inspired such a great song.”
The movie details the story of a boy and his dog who use a time machine to go on adventures but wind up changing world events by accident and dealing with the fallout.
The voice cast is lead by Ty Burrell and Max Charles, and also boasts Ariel Winter, Stephen Colbert, Leslie Mann, Mel Brooks, Allison Janney, Stanley Tucci, Patrick Warburton, Lake Bell and Dennis Haysbert.
Mr. Peabody & Shermanis produced by Alex Schwartz and Denise Nolan Cascino. Executive producers are Tiffany Ward, Eric Ellenbogen and Jason Clark.
