Lace up your Reebok Pumps because the ‘90s are back!
With last weekend’s Beauty and the Beast live-action remake breaking box-office records and a brand-new group of every kid’s favorite primary-colored superheroes ready to hit theaters on Friday in Power Rangers, it only makes sense to feel a tinge of nostalgia.
Well, what sets the mood for a trip down memory lane better than the snowy static of a VHS tape? YouTuber Consider has done just that in a reimagining of the trailer for the upcoming Power Rangers movie as an old recorded VHS tape.
Using the original theme song from the 1993 television series, the recut trailer starts much the same as the original’s opening — with a kickass guitar riff and a threat from the dastardly Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks) to conquer Earth.
It then swaps the new flashy CGI of the 2017 version for the much campier ‘90s special effects. Also, Bryan Cranston, who is always a welcome sight.
