The first trailer for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies sees star Lilly James (Cinderella) as Elizabeth Bennett who explains in a voiceover what it takes for women to exist in polite society.
As sappy instrumental music drolls behind her, she asserts “being kind, well read and accomplished” are necessities for the social survival of young women, but bodily survival constitutes the knowledge of “other qualities.”
The “other qualities” being the ability to perform advanced combat skills against the undead while wearing a corset.
The movie is based on the parody novel of of the Jane Austen classic of the same name written by Seth Grahame-Smith, and adapted for the screen by writer-director Burr Steers.
Lena Headey, Matt Smith and Jack Huston also star in the film.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is due out in theaters Feb. 5, 2016.
