The Producers Guild of America will hold the fifth edition of Produced By: New York on Nov. 10 at One Time Warner Center, the guild announced today.
Gail Berman, PGA president and chairman and CEO of The Jackal Group, will be one of the speakers.
The session series, “Producing Masterclass: The Creative Collaborations,” will return for its fifth year in an expanded format that will encompass a total of 12 productions, with a producer from each film sharing the stage with a key collaborator –– director, writer, actor, cinematographer, production designer, editor or composer –– to discuss how their partnerships provided defining elements of their films.
For the first time, “Masterclass” will be broken up into four distinct sessions, three focused on narrative features and one devoted exclusively to documentaries. Academy Award-winning producer Bruce Cohen (American Beauty) and Mimi Valdés (Hidden Figures) will lead the discussions, which include: The Favourite director and producer Yorgos Lanthimos and writer Tony McNamara; A Quiet Place director, writer and executive producer John Krasinski and producer Andrew Form; RBG producers and directors Julie Cohen and Betsy West; Widows director, writer and producer Steve McQueen and producer Iain Canning; and Won’t You Be My Neighbor? director and producer Morgan Neville and producer Caryn Capotosto.
In addition to the sessions, the Producers Guild will introduce new “Speed Networking” during the scheduled lunch break that will give attendees a chance to network with other attendees, including PGA members and non-members, Guild leadership, exhibitors and sponsors.
Also, for the first time, programming for Produced By: New York will be curated by a team of PGA members, including: Bruce Cohen, Dana Kuznetzkoff, Chris Licht, Debbie Myers, Kristine Pregot, Matteo Stanzani and Mimi Valdés, all of whom are working very closely with PGA East Chairs William Horberg and Kay Rothman. The team also includes supervising producer Liz Hart (Liz Hart Events & Design), sponsorship director Diane Salerno (Six Degrees Global) and marketing consultant Julie Giles (greenHAT digital).
