They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
So the “Old Spice Guy” should be feeling pretty good right now.
Paramount released a series of parody videos to promote its upcoming release Puss In Boots, opening Nov. 4. The film, a spin-off from the Shrek movies, features Antonio Banderas as the titular character, along with Salma Hayek (Kitty Softpaws) and Zach Galifinakis (Humpty Dumpty).
In one video, titled “The Cat Haz Swagger,” “Look at your cat,” says Puss, mimicking the popular premise of the Old Spice commercials featuring Isaiah Mustafa. “Now back to me. Now back to your cat. Now back to me. Sadly your cat is not me,” he continues before producing golden eggs and ending with “I’m on a horse.”
The other videos are titled “No Pants” (a take on Brett Favre‘s Wrangler Jeans commercials) and “He’s So Legendary” (inspired by the Dos Equis ad spots).
