The fifth installment of the Rambo franchise has started production with Paz Vega set to star opposite Sylvester Stallone.
Rambo 5: Last Blood sees Vietnam vet John Rambo take on the Mexican drug cartels after the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped.
Vega will play Carmen Delgado, a reporter who covers the Mexican drug trade and teams up with Rambo after her younger half-sister is kidnapped.
Avi Lerner’s Millennium is behind the film, which is shooting in Bulgaria and Spain. Adrian Grunberg is directing from a script by Matt Cirulnick and Stallone. Kevin King Templeton and Les Weldon are producing, with Lerner, Trevor Short and Boaz Davidson exec producing.
Vega, who is repped by Paradigm, Spain’s Pro Acios and MPE, will next be seen in the second season of Netflix’s The OA.
