TORONTO – Canadian indie distributor Remstar Films has pre-bought the Canadian rights to the Scarlett Johansson-starrer Don Jon’s Addiction, by writer/director Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Remstar, which has a movie distribution deal with Entertainment One, also acquired Two Mothers, from director Anne Fontaine and writer Christopher Hampton.
Entertainment One will handle rights in all media for the two films in Canada in partnership with Montreal-based Remstar, excluding theatrical, VOD and French-language TV rights in Quebec.

Both acquisitions are expected to be released in 2013.
Don Jon’s Addiction, which started production in May, portrays a modern-day porn-addicted Don Juan-type looking to become less self-centered.
The pic also stars Gordon-Levitt and Julianne Moore, and is produced by Ram Bergman and Nicolas Chartier.
Two Mothers stars Naomi Watts, Robin Wright, James Frecheville and Xavier Samuel, and is adapted from the work of novelist Doris Lessing as it tells the story of childhood friends and neighbors falling for each other’s sons.
