Paradigm has signed actor and rapper Page Kennedy, who was seen opposite Jason Statham this summer in The Meg, which at $527.8 million worldwide is the most successful U.S.-China co-production of all time. Kennedy made his movie debut in 2003’s S.W.A.T. and also appeared in 2005’s In the Mix, starring Usher. Kennedy was a series regular on CBS’ Rush Hour, Fox’s Backstrom, Spike’s Blue Mountain State and Showtime’s Weeds, and his other television credits include Unsolved, Southland, Legit, The Closer, Bones, Desperate Housewives, Barbershop and The Shield. He continues to be managed by Mainstay Entertainment.
Paradigm also has signed writer-producers David A. Newman and Keith Merryman, who penned Friends With Benefits as well as Think Like a Man and its sequel. They continue to be represented by manager Noah Rosen at Writ Large and attorney Mitch Smelkinson at Stone Genow.
Abrams Artists Agency has added:
— Aron Giannini, who was a talent agent at UTA for the past six years. The Los Angeles-based rep previously was a manager at 3 Arts (for six years), a manager at The Collective (tenure unknown) and director of entertainment at Auto Club Speedway/International Speedway Corporation (for six years).
— David Lopez, who spent the past five years at CAA, most recently as scripted coordinator in the digital talent and packaging department. He will work as a packaging agent in Abrams’ L.A. office.
— Chelsea Passaro, who will serve as the agency’s first head of social media and digital marketing. For the last four years, she has served on Yelp’s social media and marketing team.
“Six weeks ago, when we bought the company and talked about our core values and doing things differently, we did so knowing that we would need a leadership team guiding our vision of innovation, collaboration and disruption,” chairman Adam Bold said in a statement. “Aron believes in our new model, bringing with him more than 20 years of representation experience. While servicing many of his existing clients, he will also play a large role within our management team, helping to guide all divisions towards innovative growth. David brings his cross-departmental skills to the agency — especially that of packaging.”
Added CEO Robert Attermann and president and COO Brian Cho in a joint statement, “We are delighted to be welcoming Chelsea Passaro. Digital presence is integral to all aspects of business, and in the representation space we see housing a department internally as a value added to our clients — especially emerging talent. This new group of seasoned agents and executives allows us to be able to swiftly expand our vision and mission to fully integrate the company’s core divisions and highlight the exceptional work of our clients.”
